How It Works
The most direct form of advertising on
campus is putting your information into the hands of the students.
We offer inclusion of your
flyer/product or promotional material in our weekly A5 publication to
35 plus universities and colleges in Greater London.
The content of the publication varies each week but predominantly revolves around entertainment and contains information on clubs, bands, events and theatre.
Uber was formed 9 years ago when
I was running club nights in London and
decided to promote my events to students (figuring they needed to
spend their
student grants on something!). I gathered interest from other
promoters and
contacted some universities to see if it was possible to promote and
distribute
and if the idea appealled to them. I cut out some cardboard box
displays and
spent my nights off packing and stamping paper bags with my logo and
then the
next two days delivering them and thus Uber was born!
These days I have colourful plastic
displays, funky packs and now cover more than 35 sites in Greater
London.
Having worked with the students for
these past years I am passionate about what I do and know from
experience how important it is to have good
trustworthy distribution. I don’t rely on other staff to handle
distribution,
it is done solely by me and that way I can guarantee that every one of
your
flyers will end up where it is supposed to be, either in an Uber stand
or in
the hand of the student.
I am well established within London’s distribution scene offering a unique and unrivalled service and over the years have gained an impressive client list,many of who have been with me from the start.
These include:
I have made arrangements with the
various establishments on my list to have mycolourful displays placed
in strategic sites, for example: entrance foyers,
cafes, bars, student unions and common areas. (At the sites where for
various
reasons permission hasn’t been granted for a display I simply
hand the packs
directly to the students).
The publication is A5 (214 x 152.5mm)
packed with a wrap round cover. So anything that can fit in goes!
The amount of publications placed at
each site varies at different times ofyear depending on how busy it is,
whether it is exam times and how large the
site is. Over the years we have come to gain a happy medium and know
how many
get taken on each site.
The cost of this is £45 per week
payable upon delivery to us.

term times which are as follows:

Winter term September 17th to December 10th.
Spring Term January 14th to
March 11th .
Summer term April
8th to June 10th.

Student Unions
We work closely with 9 unions from our
list but on a whole we try to give them
a wide berth.
The reason for this is that student
unions are run independently from the universities and they are
revenue-generating organisations. Recently companies such as
Virgin and Argos to name but a few have been paying student unions
large sums
of money to use them as an access point to the student market.
The result of this is that information
regarding the arts and music (the stuff the students are actually
interested in) doesn’t produce the unions with the
large cash payouts the corporations provide.
The easy solution for this is not to
put our displays in the student unions that we don’t have deals
with, which allows us to keep the price of the
distribution low.
